• To date, over one thousand schools across the United States, from New
York to Hawaii, have participated in Kids to Kids International. Many
of these schools continue to support our program each year.
• Kids to Kids International Friendship Boxes, containing original
student-created picture books, writing/drawing supplies and disposable
cameras, have been sent to children in need in over fifty nations around
the world. Click on the red and yellow push pins on the map above, or browse the country list below, to see photos from
each country our program has touched!
• In politically sensitive countries, where printed material from the
United States – even children’s educational material –
is strictly censored, Kids to Kids International has successfully opened
a path for communication through books created by and for children.
Kids to Kids International has successfully delivered its friendship
boxes to children in Mainland China, war-torn Bosnia, Kosovo, military
camps in Russia, and other closed societies. Our goal with this project
is to create pathways of understanding in the Middle East.
• In 1995, collaboration was established between Kids to Kids International
and the National Arts Club, which operates an education program for
New York City public school children. Each year, schools create picture
books that are displayed at an annual exhibit at the National Arts Club
headquarters before being sent abroad.
