On May 1, 2010, Pat Kibbe was presented with the 2010 Verna E. Mulholland Friend of Education Award, given by Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an organization of key women educators. She was honored by the New York State chapters (Pi State) for the work she has done since 1986 with Kids to Kids International in promoting education, friendship and peace around the world. She “has worked significantly toward improving the educational opportunities of others and … has given outstanding service to promoting quality education.”

When Pat received her award at the Pi State Executive Meeting in Glens Falls, NY, she talked about how the idea she had while giving author’s talks about her children’s books developed into Kids to Kids International, and how it is now her dream to have every school in America incorporate Kids to Kids in their classrooms.
